Spaceship Earth

PowerPoint and Three Dimensional Model Project

There are various sections of Spaceship Earth that must interactive for the success of the mission and the daily interaction of life within its walls.  Your group is to design one to two  PowerPoint slides indicating how this interaction takes place in your section of the spaceship.  Your slides must have accurate information to explain how  the inputs and outputs work.  You should use a variety of resources.   You must also think about the design of your presentation.  One way to start your ideas is to make a story board.  Make a thumb nail sketch to preplan.  Does the PowerPoint presentation information appeal to the audience.  Do you have a title? Is the font the correct size?  Are the pictures place in an eye-appealing section?  Is the background attractive?  Did you list URLs in your resources?

The final project is the three dimensional model of your section of the spaceship.  Your job is to replicate the area and make the connections to the other sections of the space station.  We will use yarn to signify the input and output tubes.  Green will be output, yellow yarn will signify input.  You will need to work with the other groups to determine if your spaceship is balanced.  One person from each group will be the engineer to represent this information.  You should be meeting frequently so there aren't any surprises at the end of the project.

Working together can be very difficult.  The following is a Collaboration Rubric from UNI Professional Development.  Keep these descriptors in mind as you work.  A group that works well together:
